Dr. Francesca Galbiati discusses oxytocin and its use in hypopituitarism and obesity at ENDO 2025

There has been a wide range of new information regarding the physiologic functions of oxytocin and its use in hypopituitarism and obesity. Dr. Lewis Blevins caught up with Dr. Francesca Galbiati at The Endocrine Society Meeting in San Francisco, California in July 2025. In this video she reviews her work relating to the effects of intranasal oxytocin on sex steroid levels in obese patients.

  1. Thank you for posting this. I’ve always wondered about lack of oxytocin with the hypopituitary condition. I’m very excited that some research is being done.

  2. I’m interested in the improved social/mental wellbeing effects of relacing oxytocin. I read some research recently that said some people with ASD do not produce oxytocin. I am assuming this contributes to the poor QoL scores for pituitary patients (notably females) who also do not produce oxytocin (for example post craniopharyngioma treatment – particularly adults).
