Dr. Lewis Blevins of Pituitary World News interviews Dr. Iacopo Chiodini, Associate Professor of Endocrinology at the University of Milan, at ENDO 2025. Mild autonomous cortisol secretion (MACS) is a condition where the adrenal glands produce cortisol by themselves, independently of pituitary regulation. Many patients have excess morbidity attached to this condition, including diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and osteopenia. Dr. Lewis Blevins caught up with Dr. Iacopo Chiodini at The Endocrine Society Meeting in San Francisco, California, in July 2025 (ENDO 2025) to discuss his presentation illustrating the benefits of adrenalectomy (the removal of all or part of one or both adrenal glands) in patients with MACS. In this video, capturing the presentation of data, they also discuss the need for studies to address the medical management of patients with MACS.
